How to display the consol of the MVME162 (CAMP) or PPC for the MUSR experiments

To display a MVME serial window in the counting rooms (M15/M20/M9B

Select the MVME board

If the blue switch box  is still in use (located on or near the cpu box for your linux DAQ machine (midm15/midm9b/midm20)  use it to select the MVME board you require. Select  either
 
  • CAMP  MVME162    or
  •  PPC   MVME2305 
If not, select the PPC using the  MUSR User Interface  (click on Extras... VME HM utility).  Select CAMP MVME162 by running minicom or seyon in an xterm window.

If not using the blue switch box, the serial consol lines from the VME crate are hooked up directly to the Linux box serial ports (/dev/ttyS0, /dev/ttyS1).
